NWEAMO Fest 2027: Call for Works
Theme: “Pulsing Otherworldliness”
NWEAMO Fest 2027 invites composers to submit works inspired by Pulsing Otherworldliness.
We are seeking music that explores pulse in its many forms: natural pulses such as the heartbeat, great planetary pulses such as the tides, the micro-pulses of hummingbird wings, and the driving pulse of dance music from all over the world. We welcome works that engage rhythm, vibration, repetition, propulsion, trance, transformation, and the mysterious energies that move through bodies, landscapes, communities, and imagined worlds.
The festival will take place February 13 and 14, 2027 in San Diego, California.
Composers are invited to bring their own performers. We also welcome works for the NWEAMO Chamber Ensemble, for any combination of flute, violin, piano, and electronics.
NWEAMO stands for New West Evolving Arts and Music Organism. NWEAMO celebrates the broadest possible gathering of musicians and genres, embracing the greatest possible diversity of places and ages.
The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2026.
There is a $20 submission processing fee per composition.
